Graduate of the Paris Conservatoire, baritone François Héraud has worked with renowned conductors such as Hervé Niquet, Jean-Christophe Spinosi, Sigvards Klava, Marcus Creed, and Martina Batic. Lyric baritone, he covers all styles and genres. In the Baroque repertoire, he performed Mercuri in Monteverdi's L'Incoronazione di Poppea under the direction of Jean-Christophe Spinosi, and participated in Lully and Molière's Comédie-ballet Le Sicilien under the direction of Hervé Niquet at the Reims Opera. In the lyric repertoire, he sang Schaunard in Puccini's La Bohème, Mozart's Don Giovanni, Escamillo in Bizet's Carmen, and Belcore in Donizetti's L'Elisir d'amore. He has also performed in the operetta genre with the Parisian orchestra Les Frivolités Parisiennes and the Brussels Operette Theater at the Royal Flemish Theatre in Brussels.
He is a regular guest soloist in oratorio. He performed a chamber version of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with the Mendelssohn Ensemble under the direction of Daniel Rubenstein at the Théâtre Royal du Parc in Brussels. He is principal bass in Bach's Oster Oratorium at the Muziegebouw Amsterdam and the Cologne Philharmonic under the direction of countertenor Maarten Engeltjes. Most recently, he sang the baritone solos in Carmina Burana at Studio 4 at Flagey in Brussels with the Brussels Young Philharmonic.
